Wrap and Drape Necklace Tutorial

Wrap and Drape Necklace Tutorial

With the advent of permanent-finish galvanized beads, and considering the cost of precious metal seed beads, I decided to design an Ndebele herringbone chain which incorporated Japanese two-hole Tila beads and permanent finish galvanized beads. This necklace can be worn singly or with multiple necklaces at a time for an impressive statement. A 30-inch necklace also wraps around an average sized wrist four times for a beautifully draped light-weight bracelet. The necklace is worked in two-bead wide flat herringbone stitch. When working the flat herringbone stitch, a size 15° bead is used on the edge to execute the turn. It is these beads that create the edging on the chain.
