Maggie Splits and Tubes Bracelet Tutorial

12.00

Maggie Splits and Tubes was inspired by, and named for, Maggie Jackson, the    innovative Irish knitwear designer extraordinaire. Blessed with the good fortune to be a participant in a weekend retreat where Maggie was the guest instructor, I just had to translate what I learned with linen yarn into beads. The bracelet is worked entirely in peyote stitch. Matte finish Delica beads are alternated with opaque seed beads to give the appearance and texture of knitted moss stitch. (Or opaque finish Delica beads and matte finish seed beads) The ‘splits’ and ‘tubes’ are deftly worked into the piece. The bracelet has a soft supple drape and much the same feel as a piece knitted with Irish linen. The Squash colorway is worked entirely in Toho Aiko cylinder beads.
