Maggie Picot Flaps Bracelet Tutorial

Maggie Picot Flaps was inspired by, and named for, Maggie Jackson, the innovative Irish knitwear designer extraordinaire. Blessed with the good fortune to be a participant in a weekend retreat where Maggie was the guest instructor, I just had to translate what I learned with linen yarn into beads. The bracelet is worked entirely in peyote stitch. Matte finish Delica beads are alternated with matte finish seed beads in the same color to give the appearance and texture of knitted moss stitch. The ‘picot flaps’ are deftly worked into the piece and use a 2.8 mm Japanese fringe bead to crown the picot flap. The bracelet has a soft supple drape and much the same feel as a piece knitted with Irish linen.
