Maggie Aran Baubles Bracelet Tutorial

Maggie Aran Baubles was inspired by, and named for, Maggie Jackson, the innovative Irish knitwear designer extraordinaire. Blessed with the good fortune to be a participant in a weekend retreat where Maggie was the guest instructor, I just had to translate what I learned with linen yarn into beads. The bracelet base is worked in peyote ‘moss’ stitch. The Aran baubles are deftly worked into the peyote ‘moss’ stitch with right angle weave creating a zigzag pattern on the bracelet.  In the pictured sample, size 10° steel Delica beads are alternated with Toho 711 size 11° seed beads to give the appearance and texture of knitted moss stitch. The bracelet has a soft supple drape and much the same feel as a piece knitted with Irish linen yarn.
