Cleopatra

Cleopatra

Inspired by a 1931 Art Deco necklace by Jakob Bengel, the Cleopatra necklace is primarily worked in the designers adaptation of Peyote stitch for the Czech Mates two-hole, brick shaped bead. This necklace has a supple drape and a natural curve worked into it with a combination of ladder stitch and peyote stitch. The necklace is comprised of brick ‘teeth’ worked diagonally. Construction is begun in the center. You will finish the right side and then go back to the center to complete the left side. The necklace works up quickly and is a delight to wear.

Queen of the Nile

Queen of the Nile

This lovely necklace is the result of my first design opportunity as a Starman TrendSetter: Worked in peyote stitch from the midline out, you will learn to increase and decrease in peyote stitch with CzechMates brick two hole beads to create the soft curves of the necklace. The first segment of the necklace contains sixteen bricks on the diagonal edge, the second segment contains eight bricks on the diagonal edge and the third segment contains five bricks on the diagonal edge. The necklace has a soft and supple drape. A single point of attachment clasp finishes it off.

Permanent-finish, galvanized seed beads and Japanese two-hole Tila beads are used to create this soft, supple necklace. Wear just one or wear multiple necklaces at a time for an impressive fashion statement. A 30-inch necklace also wraps around an average sized wrist four times for a beautiful draped light-weight bracelet.

This necklace grew out of a passion for creating flowers from seed beads and thread. It has a soft, lacy look that resembles a pinwheel or ribbon candy. The necklace is joined with a Mag-Lok magnetic clasp. Otherwise, it is worked entirely with a needle and thread and requires no other tools.
